REMA member Arthur Cambridge (Ret. - Det. CSU & ESS 8) on Friday, June 19, 2009, at his home in Stroudsburg, PA. His entire family was with him at the time of his death. Artie had been in Hospice care. He had suffered for a long time with the effects of lung cancer and had undergone surgery and many courses of Chemotheraphy. Artie was seventy-one and a US Navy veteran. (posted June 21, 2009)
REMA member Vinny Fagan (Ret - ESS
1) on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 after waging a courageous battle against
liver cancer. Vinny was sixty-two years old and leaves behind a daughter,
Deana Sherwood, and two brothers, Michael (Ret. Sgt. NYPD) and Peter, as
well as nieces and nephews.
Vinny served his country in the US Army and saw combat in Vietnam. He was
there during the Tet offensive in 1968. Vinny later joined the NYPD on
March 26, 1973 and retired on December 01, 1991. During his career, Vinny
was highly decorated and a proud member of the NYPD Honor Legion. He was
also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Please remember Vinny's entire family in your prayers. May God grant him
eternal peace and may his soul rest in peace.
Sick
REMA member Rick Martinez (Ret ESS 3)
recently underwent back surgery on May 22, 2009 and has come through with flying
colors. He is now in the rehabilitation process, which should last quite a
while. We know he will be 100% before long and back at work. You can reach him at: NYCESU@aol.com

REMA member Don Damian's (Ret. ESS 10) daughter
Ashley Damian, is undergoing treatment for a rare and serious brain stem
disorder. Prayers for her speedy and complete recovery are needed - please pray
for Ashley.
